I Meeting of "Service-Learning in the arts"

 

Among the actions defined for the Support Program for Solidary Educational Institutions "Aprendizaje-Servicio Solidario en las Artes”, the meeting was held on August 23rd in the Salon Leopoldo Marechal of the Ministry of Education.
The meeting was attended by 70 people, including teachers and students from the 15 participating institutions, leaders of CSOs, members of the National Solidarity Education Program team of the Ministry of Education and provincial leaders in Solidarity Education and Arts Education.
The meeting was opened by the Coordinator of the Support Program,  Lic. Pablo Daniel Buján Matas, who explained the scope and schedule of work until June 2018 and Prof. María Nieves Tapia, Director of CLAYSS, who gave a presentation on the Solidarity Service-Learning and Arts.
Experiences were presented by Colegio Secundario de Arte N° 49 in Tilcara, Jujuy; Fine Arts Faculty of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, and the Municipal School of Dance "Norma Fontenla" in Mar del Plata, both of Buenos Aires Province. Prof. Alejandra Catibiela from the CLAYSS team commented on the presentations.

The Program supports 15 schools and institutions of Higher Education in Argentina, and offers training to teachers, managers, leaders of CSOs, public officials linked to education and students involved in projects of Service-Learning and arts education and aims to build local capacity, develop a critical mass interested in the subject and facilitate their interaction and exchange towards our goal of promoting Service-Learning as a tool to innovate Arts Education in formal educational environments.
Support to the educational institutions involved in the Program includes:

  • - Economic resources for the development of their projects of solidarity Service-Learning.
  • - Scholarships for virtual training and participation in the 20th International Conference on "Service-Learning "and the 1st Meeting on Service-Learning in the arts".
  • - onsite training in the institution
  • - onsite and virtual technical assistance for one year

9. Centro Polivalente de Arte de San Rafael, San Rafael, Mendoza
10. Escuela Albergue 4-206 "Mapu Mahuida", Malargue, Mendoza
