CLAYSS endorses the Declaration of the Forum of Rectors of Cordoba
CLAYSS has formally expressed its support for the Declaration of the Forum of Rectors of Cordoba, which met on 12 April.
In CLAYSS's adhesion we emphasize that: "From its three characteristic pillars -teaching, research and extension- the university articulates a set of actions that have as their ultimate goal not only academic training, but also the transformation of the community in which it is inserted. It is essential, 100 years after the University Reform, to renew the commitment of Latin American higher education as a tool for the search for more just, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable societies through the inclusion of practices that make it effective. We especially encourage Universities to incorporate solidarity service-learning as part of their pedagogical proposals, understanding that it is an innovative way to promote the development of solidarity activities in which knowledge is applied to the resolution of specific problems and needs of the community".
