  • 25 May: XXXI Pedagogical Day of the Pious Schools of Catalonia: in the coastal town of Colella, and as part of the celebration of 200 years of the Pia School in that city, the 31st. Pedagogical Day was held, an annual space for training and exchange for teachers from all the Escolapias Schools in Catalonia. Around 400 teachers and directors participated with great interest and enthusiasm in the Day, which had as its central theme Service-Learning. Nieves Tapia gave a lecture and answered numerous questions from teachers. In an emotional ceremony, the "San José de Calasanz" prizes were then awarded to teachers and directors who were outstanding for their work and commitment. The Provincial of the Piarists, Fr. Eduard Pini, closed the day by recalling a phrase from the founder of the Pious Schools, St. Joseph Calasanz: “They write to me telling me how happy they are with the progress of the works they do in school, and how children learn, but if they do not progress equally in the spirit of service and coexistence, the works and learning will be of little use to them to transform society”.
