I "Service-Learning in the Arts" Latin American Meeting

As part of the actions defined for the Support Program for Educational Solidarity Institutions "Service-Learning in the Arts", the First Latin American Meeting was held on August 28th. The Meeting took place in the Alfredo Bravo Room of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology.
The meeting was attended by 50 people, including principals, teachers and students from the 11 participating institutions, CSO leaders and public officials involved in education from Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.
The meeting was opened by the Coordinator of the Support Program, DIyS Pablo Daniel Buján Matas, who explained the work schedule until the end of 2019, and Prof. Alejandra Catibiela from CLAYSS team, who gave a presentation on service-learning in the arts.
The E.M.E.I.E.F. "Prof. Egle Maria Ciarrochi" and E.M.E.I.E.F. "Limeira" schools presented their experiences, both from Limeira, Brazil; the Santo Domingo Savio Educational Institute - "El Silencio" School, Tolima, Colombia and the Visual Language 3 Chair of the National University of La Plata, Faculty of Fine Arts, La Plata, Province of Buenos Aires; Then Prof. María Nieves Tapia, Director of CLAYSS, commented on the presentations.

After the presentations, there was a workshop space with the participants on the application of the cross cutting processes in an artistic service-learning project.
We are grateful for the collaboration of the Ministry of Education of the Nation, which provided us with the Alfredo Bravo Room of the Sarmiento Palace to carry out the Meeting.
