Solidarity Students Meeting: protagonists voice in the Conference

The meeting began with an exhibition in which four students shared the service-learning projects they carry out in their schools. The central theme developed was “reflection” as a transversal axis through the different stages in a SL project. In the exchange they affirmed the importance of this transversal process, so that the experience reinforces learning, the sense of service, the link with the community. One of the remarkable aspects is that in being protagonists “reflection” challenges them in their link with their teachers, community partners, and their own peers. As the day progressed, the exchange grew, the joy of sharing and the possibility of exchanging experiences was expressed in games, songs and video micro-messages to be shared with others.

Some conclusions of the students at Conference closure were:
"...in our high school we had the opportunity to teach others... when we talked about it with others who spent the day with us we realized that we connected in those things and in the satisfaction of seeing satisfaction and gratitude in the children, young people or adults we helped with our projects..."
"...we had to put ourselves in the shoes of our teachers by teaching others and that made us learn to be patient and helped us grow more like people, because it's a totally different experience than what you do in school..."
"...we realized the desire in the youth and teachers to carry out these projects and continue to do so, that we need to organize ourselves better to improve our projects, that we have many ideas to apply to them..."
