SOLIDARITY YOUTH

Student Solidarity Day was celebrated in Argentina

In 2007, the Federal Education Council of Argentina has included October 8 in the school calendar as "Student Solidarity Day", in recognition of the solidarity work carried out daily by thousands of Argentine students, and in memory of the nine students and the teacher of the ECOS School of the City of Buenos Aires who died when they were traveling back from a solidarity trip with a rural school in the Chaco, on October 8, 2006. Annually, the date is commemorated by educational institutions throughout the country, and several provinces carry out special activities during that day.
This year, CLAYSS was able to participate in the 4th Provincial Meeting of Solidarity Schools organized in the province of Mendoza. The day was held at the La Colonia Sports Center, in the Department of Junín, and gathered more than 650 students and teachers from all over the province.
